I have received many questions regarding the 21-Day New Year-New You Program from several of you. If you haven’t asked these yet, chances are that you are wondering some of them as well.
Here are some of the questions I am receiving and the answers to them.
Why is the program 21 days?
I have found that 21 days is about the time it takes to have the gut start feeling better. In other words, this is the amount of time when you will start to reap the benefits of your hard work – any less and you might only experience the “die-off symptoms” (which you could experience even past 21 days, depending on your current gut state). 21 days also allows for plenty of time for people to work out the kinks and to ask me questions along the way.
I know you eat meat, but I don’t. Do I have to eat meat to do it?
Absolutely not! The traditional “cleaning out the gut/detox” completely cuts out meat. I don’t prescribe to the theory that meat is awful for the gut. I prescribe to the theory that it does, in fact, heal. That said, any and all meat consumed will be grass-fed and as clean and pure as possible during this time. It must. Furthermore, if you do not eat meat there will be plenty of ideas and foods to choose from.
I want to do the program, but I can’t sign up until January 1. Will you still have room?
As of today, December 20, 2012, 9 of the 14 spots are filled already. You can absolutely wait until January 1 if you need to but I cannot guarantee there will still be spaces available, as I’m getting inquiries daily.
I want to do the program, but I’m not sure I can afford the $97.
I wish I could run programs like this 24/7 and do them for people for free. Unfortunately, I cannot. Two options for you:
- You can pay half now and the other half by January 4th. If you would like to do this, simply contact me and we can work out the payment.
- Ask to have it “gifted” to you for Christmas! To help you out, I’ve created and added a “Gift Certificate” image to the bottom of the program details. Simply just invite the person you’d like to purchase it for you to pay HERE and they can print off the Gift Certificate there or email me and I can send them a PDF version.
What if I want to start January 1?
Awesome! I will begin to start on January 1 as well, but not fully diving in. From January 1 – January 7, it’s a good idea to start cutting back and preparing all around. This will help so it’s not a huge shock to you on January 7. I will have everything to you on January 4 so that you have a few days to get ready and more importantly, to really get excited! Also, on the original “sign up” page, I let you all know about a special discount for my Gut Check program in case you wanted to do this beginning on January 1.
I noticed on Facebook yesterday some information about GaiamTV. What is that all about?
It’s super awesome and exciting:)
Even though my full “list” is not done, I couldn’t wait any longer to announce it. The 21-Day New Year-New You Program (and likely beyond it) is getting special treatment with Gaiam TV! We will have our own special collection that will be featured on the site. It will be CUSTOMIZED for all of you -> IBS, IBD and holistic content specific. I am finalizing all the various videos with GaiamTV as we speak. This will ensure that during the 21 days we are learning more about food as it relates to IBS/IBD, practicing some stress-reducing techniques and even getting in some core workouts and cardio if you want. I will have a variety of things planned – just for you.

Will I lose weight from your program?
I cannot guarantee that. I do not promote “weight loss programs.” I don’t believe in them as a stand alone benefit. I believe in living healthier, stronger lives with a properly-functioning digestive system. With that, the weight usually drops without even trying. But don’t take my word for it, take my client Heather’s word!
What if my digestive system feels fine, but I just want to kick off the New Year with something new. Would this be a program for me?
Yes! We will be eating clean and living heathier, less stressful lives. The last time I checked, most women could benefit from this
That said, please know that we will be cutting a lot of foods out. If you absolutely love dairy and sugar free candies as part of your healthy lifestyle, they are just a couple of the things that will not be a part of our 21 days together. There are plenty of “healthy lifestyle” bloggers out there who believe in the power of “skinny-this, fat-free that.” I do NOT, so you might not enjoy the wholeness of what we’ll embrace.
What if 21 days is not enough for me? Will there be any special deals or discounts to keep working with you beyond the 21 days?

Are you doing it with us?
Yes - absolutely - positively – 100%! I don’t produce crap. When I put my heart and soul into something I truly give as much as I can (Again, don’t take my word for it, but instead the word from my clients -> my “Testimonials Page” coming soon!). Developing this program came straight from my own gut – what I know works and doesn’t work. I have tested and tried things for several years now, and I have studied, studied, studied. What I ask you to do are all the things I require of myself. I’m going to be 30 in February and I cannot wait to head into my 30th year feeling fantastic!

Will coffee be allowed?
Unfortunately, no. Coffee is my most favorite thing in the world. The mornings seem so “complete” with it. However, coffee poses a couple main problems for those with gut issues. One is further gut irritation and the other is the fact that (most) coffee is processed, making it even harder for the body to digest. This is the main reason I don’t do decaf! It’s just 21 days. Coffee likely does not need to be kept out of the diet forever. I actually don’t have a problem with it at all, but I will remove it with you as well. To “prepare,” I will have only one cup from January 1 – January 7. You will probably want to do the same.
Can I do this program if I’m traveling or have client lunches?
Yes! The first time I did it, I had client lunches almost every single day. I will tell you this now -> there will never, ever, ever be a “right” time to do this – to start. Life always throws curve balls. It’s not about having or not having willpower; it’s about being ready to change and making consistent changes.

Hi Sarah, so a last minute trip to NYC came up for Jan 12-16… I know the program is 21 days and I don’t want to mess it up on the 5th – 10th day… will this program be easy to follow when on a mini vacay !? YIKES!
It won’t be *as* easy, but I’ll let you know how you can order when out to eat. The first time I did this, I had client lunches all the time. It will take some NYC discipline, which you might not enjoy, but that’s part of life – things will always come up!
